Ysgol Bryn Derw are seeking to appoint a caretaker to work 20 hours a week between 7am and 11am Monday to Friday, for 52 weeks per year. Holidays are to be taken during school holiday periods.
Ysgol Bryn Derw opened in September 2017 for young people aged 3-19 who have been diagnosed with ASD and associated complex learning needs. In September 2024 the school will have 120 pupils across 2 sites and the school and aims to provide the highest possible standards of education and support for all its pupils regardless of their level of educational need. We are looking for a committed caretaker who will thrive on this exciting opportunity and who will be able to engage with and work alongside the specific needs of the pupils in this specialised setting.

We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual with relevant work experience to oversee the day to day management of the school’s inclusion team from September 2024. The role will involve working under the guidance of members of the school leadership team, working closely with staff from across the school to play a key role in delivering pastoral and learning support to learners sent to the Inclusion Room (IR) office. In addition, you will receive and supervise learners excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable.
You will work to address the needs of learners who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. You will support individuals and groups of learners to enable access to learning and assist the school’s teachers with the management of learners within the classroom and beyond.
Working closely with our learners you will advise and provide information to enable them to make choices about their own learning/behaviour/attendance, as well as challenging and motivating learners, promoting and reinforcing their self-esteem. A key part of this role is to support learners to access learning using appropriate strategies and resources.

Expectation and Outcomes of this Role: -
• Assist with setting up the school hall for lunch;
• Oversee pupils eating lunch in the school hall
• Assist in supervision of the school hall involving: ▪ encouragement of good behaviour; ▪ correct use of cutlery and assistance where necessary; ▪ encouragement of good food habits and avoidance of waste; ▪ dealing with spillages or accidents requiring immediate attention
• Maintain effective relationships with pupils during structured playtimes

• Support orderly entrance and exit to lunch hall

• Clear and wipe tables between servings and after servings
• Supervise pupils outside encouraging them to play together

The Governors of St Julian's Primary are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and professional caretaker. The working week would be 37 hours and the successful candidate will be required to work a split shift during term time. Governors are willing to consider splitting the role between two part-time posts if that would be preferable to any successful candidates. The post is initially for a fixed period of one year. Annual leave must be taken during school closure periods.
The successful candidate must be prepared to work flexibly to ensure that the school functions with the appropriate caretaking support and will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as genuine commitment to the overall security, maintenance and development of the school site. On occasion it may be necessary to secure the site at a later time, due to school concerts, meetings etc.

Hours of work are 8.00am – 4.00pm (3.30pm Friday)
Start date: October 2024
We are looking for a motivated and well-organised person to work alongside our Examinations Officer as the Examinations Assistant. The main duties will be:
• To assist in processing examinations, including registrations and results entries. • To deal with enquiries regarding examination and accreditation procedures. • To assist with invigilation duties for examinations. • To ensure adequate supplies of examination forms and papers are maintained. • To assist in the allocation of appropriate room accommodation for examinations and accreditation.
The post is term time plus one week to work during school holidays. You will need to be available to work 4 days during the school summer holidays: 2 days GCSE results and 2 days A’ level results. This equates to working for 40 weeks of the year. Some early starts are required during the summer exam season.
