Thursday & Friday (Contractual hours 40%. Term Time only, Part-time, Permanent)
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate who will work as part of a successful team at High Cross Primary School. The Head teacher and Governing Body is looking to appoint a Class Teacher to work in this busy and highly rewarding school. High Cross Primary is a thriving school for pupils aged 3-11 years which is situated in the area of Bassaleg, just north of Newport. There are currently 270 pupils on roll.
At High Cross Primary we have the highest expectations of our pupils and staff to ensure that everyone succeeds academically, socially and emotionally. We are fully committed to achieving our school motto ‘Together we grow and shine.’
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and inspirational Class Teacher for 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday) to work with Progression Step 3. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching and learning of the highest standard, to further the success of our primary school and ensure the best opportunities are provided for all children.
We are looking for somebody who:
• Is an outstanding practitioner to further enhance the excellent teaching at High Cross.
• Is a committed team player and role model with proven ability to lead, challenge and empower children and colleagues.
• Is passionate about providing authentic learning opportunities for all children with an inspiring, creative curriculum.
• Is able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the Curriculum for Wales.
• Is innovative, reflective and flexible in their approach
• Is enthusiastic, motivated, and caring.
• Is able to embrace community partnerships.
• Is able to identify areas of improvement and contribute creatively to help to continue to improve our school
• Has an excellent understanding of ICT both as a teaching and learning tool

The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a lesson observation.
