1 Year Fixed Term Contract 32.5 Hours Per Week, 39 Weeks Per year
The Headteacher, children, staff and Governing Body of Tredegar Park Primary School are looking to appoint enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational Teaching Assistants (Level 2) to join the team from September 2025. We are currently looking to recruit Teaching Assistants for positions across the whole school. Roles include supporting whole classes as well as supporting small groups of learners with Additional Learning Needs.
Our Teaching Assistants play a really important role in the life of Tredegar Park Primary School. We would like to appoint individuals who:
- Are able to develop excellent working relationships with all pupils, Governing Body members, staff and parents/carers. - Are dedicated to the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of all pupils. - Have high expectations of what all pupils can achieve and who will invest heavily in supporting our pupils to reach their full potential. - Are positive and respectful and reflect regularly on their practice in order to improve professionally.
We have positions available for the following:
- Teaching Assistants in the Early Years setting. - Teaching Assistants to effectively support small groups of pupils with physical, medical, social, emotional and behavioural needs inside and outside of the main classroom setting.
Therefore, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have:
- Experience of working in a school or setting with pupils, supporting the teacher with a range of tasks. - Experience of supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or within small groups to help them make good progress in their wellbeing and learning. - The ability to use specific strategies to support pupils with social and communication needs. - The ability to manage behaviour in a positive and respectful manner. - The ability to work with a range of external agencies to support the needs of the pupils. - Recent training or the willingness to attend training to support pupils with medical and physical needs.

THIS POST REQUIRES YOU TO HAVE A TEACHING ASSISTANT QUALIFICATION.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS.
Holidays must be taken during school closure periods.
The appointment process will involve a lesson observation and an interview with the Headteacher and members of the Governing Body.
