We are looking for people to join our Customer Services team working in the City Contact Centre, Face to Face and Main Reception. We are recruiting for:
- 2 full time Customer Services Officers
- 1 part time (22.5 hours) Customer Services Officer
If you are friendly and able to engage in a polite, sincere and welcoming
manner with members of the public then we'd like to hear from you. Working for Customer Services we can offer you:

Our current opening hours in the City Contact Centre are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm. Face to Face services are currently closed but our usual opening hours are 9am – 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
** Please note that due to the Covid-19 restrictions on the way we work, the position will be home based once training has been completed**
Responsible to the Team Leader, Customer Service Officers will respond to enquiries from the public on a wide range of Council Services. Your aim will be to fully answer queries over the phone and in person initiating services for the customer in a friendly, helpful manner. You will also identify any shortfalls in information provision to fully respond to public enquiries.
You will be educated to A-level standard or have at least 1 years’ experience in a call centre or customer services environment. As an excellent team player you will have a good understanding of customer service principles and have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals. You will work well under pressure and have the ability to prioritise your own workload.
We encourage applications from individuals who can communicate effectively in Welsh or Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Arabic as well as English.
