Post No. POSN001289 - Social Worker - Safeguarding Hub
Newport City Council Childrens Services are seeking to recruit a social worker to join our Safeguarding HUB. This is an exciting time to join Newport City Council as we expand our children’s workforce to meet an increase in demand for our services.
You will have good assessment skills and the ability to engage with service users quickly, with a focus on the safety and wellbeing of children. You will be skilled in developing and sustaining effective multi-agency links across a range of professional groups.
The Safeguarding HUB post will involve responsibility for undertaking assessment and investigation work. You will be highly motivated, focused on providing high quality, timely and effective short term assessments and interventions to children "at risk" or "in need of care and support" in the community. You will be part of a highly supportive environment and have good access to training and development opportunities.

For this role you will be a practitioner with a professional social work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and registered with the Care Council Wales (or able to transfer from HCPC or similarly recognised body).
