Post No. HP1026.15 - Flying Start Childcare - Young Person Apprenticeship
Duration: 12 months
Basis: 35 hours a week, 8.00-4.00 depending on settings opening hours (Monday-Friday) school term time only. (39weeks per year), with the appropriate release to undertake the apprentice qualification
Qualification to compete: NVQ level 2 in Childcare (CCPLD)

Start would like to provide an opportunity for a young person to undertake an apprentice with the service. We are looking to recruit 2 Childcare Apprentice to work at various bases and crèches throughout the City for a period of 12 months. This post represents a fantastic opportunity to develop important skills within the childcare sector.
Flying Start is an initiative from the Welsh Assembly Government, aimed at making a positive difference for the better to the life chances of children 0-3years old, to ensure they have a flying start in life.
The Newport Flying Start Team is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable young person to work in partnership with Senior Practitioners, key staff, parents and carers to promote the vision and values of the Flying Start programme.
