Post No. POSN000903 - Young Person’s Advisor – Pathway to Independence Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathway Service for a Young Person’s Advisor. You will be working with young people aged 14-25, their families and other professionals in accordance with The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2015 and Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014. You will need to have experience of working with young people within this age group, have an understanding of statutory requirements and be able to work independently and as part of a team. We are particularly looking for someone who is able to work with young people of varying ability from diverse backgrounds, build on our use of community resources and undertake group work with 14-16 year olds.
The Pathway to Independence Team sits within the Pathway Service; this service is comprised of three teams, which includes team managers, senior practitioners, social workers, young person’s advisors, social work assistants, a family intervention worker and contact worker. We work together with children and young people up to the age of 25 through care and their families. We have a stable workforce, supervision is regular and the opportunities for career development and training are excellent. There are also a number of agencies operating locally who work with the young people and their families to improve their lives.
For this role you will be a practitioner with BTEC Health and Social Care, NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or extensive experience in working with children and young people who have experienced the looked after system.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
